The Plans
We offer three managed backup service plans to fit your disaster recovery needs and budget
Tier3 - Our premier backup service offering full system recovery, file recovery, and fully redundant storage
Tier2 - Daily backups to a fully redundant SAN infrastructure featuring file recovery, data de-duplication, redundant block elimination, and over the wire encryption
Tier1 - Weekly backups to a fully redundant SAN infrastructure featuring file recovery, data de-duplication, redundant block elimination, and over the wire encryption
The Technology
We utilize two of our partners' technologies to bring these services to our customers
Tier3 Premiere Back Up Service
Tier3 backups use Symantec Netbackup as the primary technology. Featuring BMR (Bare Metal Restore), Netbackup offers
- Ability to perform individual file restores using the Netbackup agent
- Complete system restore in the event of a system failure (e.g. Multiple drive failure, backplane failure, loss of RAID configuration, etc)
- System recovery is performed by one of our engineers using a proprietary Symantec PE (pre environment) which restores your system to the state it was at last backup
- Periodic restores are done to ensure data integrity and recoverability
Tier2/ Tier1
Tier2 and Tier1 backups use Altiris Recovery Solution to protect your system. Recovery Solution provides:
- File recovery in case of corruption, deletion, or any other situation requiring a prior version of a file to be recovered
- Recovery Solution is a feature rich product offering Redundant File Elimination (RFE), Redundant Block Elimination (RBE), and HLZS data compression producing compression ratios as high as 15:1 maximizing your investment
- Recovery Solution provides data source validation, data integrity checking, and over-the-wire encryption to ensure that all data sent and received is secure and recoverable
- CRC (cyclic redundancy checks) are done weekly to validate all data and prevent against corruption to ensure data is recoverable
- Web based restores are also available providing an easy method of restoring data from any of your dedicated servers to another
The Infrastructure
All of our services are built on our fully redundant gigabit network with Dell hardware and Compellent SAN technology providing reliable high performance application environments. In the case of a critical server failure due to a service outage, we can restore service availability quickly and efficiently minimizing impact on our customers.
Both Netbackup and Recovery Solution feature a client side user interface to allow for file recovery and backup customization for fast recovery of data without relying on customer support. However, if a situation requires assistance, our staff of MCSE engineers are trained to provide around the clock superior support.
The Schedule
Backup schedules vary from plan to plan. Tier3 backups are performed between the hours of 6:30PM EST and 9:30AM EST every day. Tier2 backups are performed between the hours of 12AM EST and 9AM EST every day. Tier1 backups are performed between the hours of 12AM EST and 9AM EST Saturday.
